Love Lane Market
I am looking forward to a new market opening on Love Lane in Mattituck! Any day now… It sounds like a lot of care and time has been put into the design of the 1920’s original market space. The architect chose recycled window panes and yellow pine for the ceilings, and glass skylights to give the market an open feel.
They promise a wood-burning pizza oven and Asian noodle bar as well as international foods, organic and locally grown produce. They also say they will have plenty of gluten-free goodies and vegan and vegetarian options. This makes me very happy. One of the main reasons I love the North Fork so much is the plentiful and delicious local food!

One of the reasons I love the North Fork is the farm-field vistas. It’s hard to believe sometimes that one is only two hours from Manhattan. Along with the water and wineries, there are farms! Bearing plentiful corn, blueberries and tomatoes this time of year, visiting farm stands is one of my favorite ways to spend the day.

The splendiferous lavender fields at Lavender By The Bay (and my take!) in East Marion. You can stroll the fields to pick your own scented bunches or pick something out from their open-barn shop. You just might think you’re in France!

Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.
Entrance to the delightful Croteaux winery. They are the only all-Rose producing vineyard. (I want to live here!!)
